Opportunity Class (OC)

If the student is exceptional and academically brilliant, sometimes the contents taught in the classroom are just too easy for him/her. The learning needs and interests of such students should be given a sincere attention. The Opportunity Class (OC) classes are suitable to students who are gifted and have strong academic ability.

OC is an exam for talented and gifted students who are currently in Year 5 and/or Year 6. Students who wish to be placed in OC in Year 5 are supposed to sit the OC test during their Year 4.

The entry into OC is mainly governed by following three parameters:

  • How are the results of a student in OC English reading, Mathematical reasoning and Thinking Skills?
  • How are the assessments of the student from his/her school?
  • How are the scores of a student in English and Mathematics during Year 3 and Year 4 NAPLAN?

    • OC Test Structure

    The OC test for 2021 will be computer-based and 60 minutes in length. It will be a continuous test with no breaks.
    The test will be structured as follows:
  • Reading – 14 items
  • Mathematical Skills – 18 items
  • Thinking Skills – 18 items
  • All questions will be multiple-choice.
